By GAWDA Connection

Charlie Esparza, an instructor in the Alternative Energy Division of the Railroad Commission of Texas, conducted a safety class at Coastal Welding Supply’s training facility and 50,000 sq. ft. fill plant in Beaumont, TX. Attendees included people who handle propane, including those who own stores, RV parks, employees of hardware stores, and other distributors. Some drove 100 miles to attend this one-day training.

The Railroad Commission of Texas is the state agency responsible for regulating the safe storage, transportation and use of LPG, CNG and LNG. The Alternative Fuels Safety (AFS) department enforces both the state statutes and the Commission’s regulations on these fuels, and provides training to individuals working in the alternative fuels industry and merchants who handle these fuels.
